Boom on the IT service market

The 2010 results of IT service companies show that the market is reviving. The share of outsourcing services in the whole IT service market in Poland was ca. 17%, which was one of the highest levels in the Central and Eastern European countries. In a recent issue of Computerworld, IDC Poland’s analysts forecast a growth of the IT service segment by 7% in 2011. This results from unfreezing the budgets in many companies after the hard year 2009.
In the same article, Michał Kasprzak, President of inONE S.A. and expert of the Outsourcing Institute, observes that after 2009, the customers are very cautious with their purchases and the difficulties with financing increase the interest in IT system/application/infrastructure leasing services as an alternative to capital-intensive projects. Businesspeople increasingly often give the first priority to the IT service productivity, rather than to the cost efficiency as before. IT maintenance services slowly cease to be associated with interventions or extensions of the hardware warranty periods and instead are becoming a comprehensive process of taking responsibility for operation of specific systems, applications, or services. Another aspect, also very important for our company, is that the SMB sector starts to become ready to adopt those changes and is increasingly interested in mature outsourcing services. Our Customers know that thanks to our experience and knowledge, they can get much more than from a “cheap guy with a screwdriver.”
